Volunteers and other special members of the Hayfork Volunteer Fire Department’s family gathered March 28 to honor their best of 2014 at the 66th annual Firefighter Recognition Dinner. The dinner was prepared and served by members of the Solid Rock Christian Church — ample and memorable fare, and meticulous service.
Special guests were Chief and Retired California State Fire Marshal Ronny J. Coleman and Mike Williams, president and executive director of the Fire Service Training Institute. Coleman had the crowd beaming with pride when he informed them that the HVFD is the envy of many rural volunteer departments in California.
